Curses

What if the only light I ever see,
Was merely a long-forgotten glee?

The back of my hands are black and blue;
From knocking on doors without a key,
But throughout the nights I made a plea--
A plea to be shown a guiding cue.

On this barren ground, I gaze at the sky:
Brimming with stars and bugs unspoken,
A tranquil sight for the lonely and the broken.
Yet, I still feel home is nowhere nearby.

What if the only light I ever see,
was merely a long-forgotten glee?

Darkness is the only thing peering out of the window,
As I notice the only heartbeat left is mine.
And the childhood memories will soon follow,
I can only hope they will end up somewhere divine.
Thus I took a step back, joining my shadow;
Where my sanity and hope would make a fine line.

What if the only light I ever see,
Was merely a long-forgotten glee?
Further, to the future I can't foresee.

an attic full of bats and spider webs,
